The layer stranded fiber optic cable is the most widely used optical cable, there are many ways of laying this kind of cable, and suitable for aerial, buried, pipeline, underwater and other occasions. It includes GYTA and GYTS series, the two has the same structures, the difference is the material of the waterproof layer in the cable. In the GYTA series, it is aluminum strip waterproof layer and in the GYTS series is steel strip waterproof layer. The compressive property of GYTA series is not as high as GYTS series, but the GYTA series has a better performance of protecting from the rust and moisture. In some pipe-piercing environment, the cable has longer service life for GYTA series. GYTS cables includes GYTS multi-mode cables and GYTS single-mode cables. GYTS cable has the property of wide bandwidth, high transmission speed, good secrecy, good insulation, long life and good chemical stability.

FAQ:

How to choose the fiber optic cable?
To choose a fiber optic cable, you need to know the application(indoor/outdoor/FTTH), installation(duct/aerial/direct buried), flammability rating(riser/LSZH/plenum), fiber count (1- 144 cores/custom), cable characteristics(armored/unarmored), construction(tight-buffered/loose tube).

GYTA and GYTS, how to choose?
If the optical cable will be buried under the ground, you may choose the GYTS series, and if the optical cable will go through the pipe, you may choose GYTA series. If the optical cable is aerial, you can choose both.

What are plenum, riser, and low-smoke zero halogen ratings, and what are the differences between them?

Riser (OFNR) rated cable:
• Defined for usage in vertical tray applications, spaces that cannot be used for environmental air.
• Prevent the flame from traveling up the cable in a vertical burn test.

LSZH rated cable:
• Does not produce heavy black soot and smoke common with PVC cables.
• Used mainly outside

Plenum (OFN) rated cable:
• Allowed in spaces defined as "air plenums", such as raised flooring systems and air handling ducts.
• Produces less smoke than traditional PVC cables.
